Lagos begins online verification for pensioners

The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) has directed eligible pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme to complete an online verification exercise between October 26 and November 25, 2026.

The exercise covers retired heads of service and permanent secretaries, as well as pensioners under the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the Civil Service Pension Office (CSPO).

As reported by PM News on Saturday, the Director-General of LASPEC, Mr Babalola Obilana, announced the exercise in a notice issued by the commission urging all affected pensioners to complete the process within the stipulated period.

According to the commission, the verification is aimed at updating pensioners’ records and confirming their eligibility under the Defined Benefit Scheme, also known as the Pay-As-You-Go system.

LASPEC said the exercise would be conducted strictly online and advised pensioners against visiting its office to complete the process.

Retired heads of service and permanent secretaries are to access the verification portal at verify.laspec.gov.ng, while TESCOM pensioners are required to visit verify.tescomlagos.ng. Pensioners under the Civil Service Pension Office are to use verify.cspo.ng.

The commission explained that participants must begin by completing a two-step login validation using their Oracle number and surname.

“After logging in, pensioners are required to select the self-service option and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the verification process.

“They must also activate their device cameras to take photographs for identity confirmation, provide their Bank Verification Number (BVN) or National Identification Number (NIN), update their personal information and complete the next-of-kin details before submitting their records,” the statement read.

LASPEC urged pensioners to ensure that all required information was correctly entered and submitted before the November 25 deadline.

For assistance, pensioners with enquiries relating to retired heads of service, permanent secretaries and TESCOM can contact Mrs Morenike Makinde on 09053962112.

Those under the Civil Service Pension Office can contact Mrs Alabi Adedamola on 08023064050, while further enquiries can be sent to [email protected].

The commission said the online arrangement was designed to enable eligible retirees to complete the verification without physically visiting its office.

Obilana urged all affected pensioners to take advantage of the designated portals and complete the exercise within the approved timeframe.
