Akpabio gave the assurance on Wednesday while receiving members of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria led by its National President, Dr. Lima Ahmed, at the National Assembly.

According to him, the Federal Government was giving the security situation utmost attention, citing the recent release of school children abducted in Oyo State as an example.

“The current administration is doing a whole lot and I can assure you that very soon, the issue of security would be a thing of the past.

“Don’t rely on what you hear or see on social media, they are not true reflection of what is happening in our country.”

Speaking further, Akpabio attributed the low support for women in elections for political offices to the conduct of some women who were given such opportunities in the past but failed to live up to expectations.

He assured the golfers of the support of the Senate and his office for their forthcoming international ladies tournament scheduled to hold at the IBB International Golf Course in Abuja.
