Nigerian defender Chukwuma Eze has completed a season-long loan move to Spanish club Villarreal from Real Oviedo, Completesports.com reports.
Eze will spend the 2026/27 campaign with Villarreal B as he continues his development in Spanish football.
The Yellow Submarine confirmed the arrival of the 22-year-old centre-back in a statement on their official website.
Eze joined Real Oviedo from Nigerian outfit Ajuwa Academy in 2021 and has since progressed through the club’s youth system.
The defender has gained valuable experience through a number of loan spells in Spain, featuring for CD Llanes, L’Entregu CF and Real Avilés.

He spent last season on loan at Real Avilés, where he made 18 appearances and continued to build his reputation.
His progress has also been rewarded by parent club Real Oviedo, with the player recently signing a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2029.
Eze has already had a taste of first-team football with Oviedo, making his senior debut against Levante in April 2025.
The move to Villarreal B represents another important step in Eze’s development, offering him the opportunity to earn regular playing time while working within Villarreal’s highly regarded development structure.
He will now hope to establish himself as a key figure in Villarreal B’s defence during the 2026/27 campaign and strengthen his chances of playing regularly at a higher level in Spanish football.
