Asked for an update on Onyeka’s fitness, Lampard, in a chat with Coventry Live, stated that the Nigerian international will be available for selection against Man City at the Etihad Stadium.

“He is available for today.”

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard stated that facing Manchester City will be a tough challenge as his newly promoted side adjusts to life in the Premier League.

Lampard acknowledged that Coventry will be the underdogs not just for this match, but for many games this season.

He stressed that the team must quickly adapt to the reality of losing more often than they did during their successful promotion campaign last season.

“You know the high, high talent level that they have. It will be a big challenge for us, but also a good challenge for us to go and see what we can do there. We’ve worked on all the threats of Manchester City, and we’ve worked on where we feel we can give them problems when at our best.”
