2027: Goronyo Named ADC Sokoto Campaign DG Hours After Defection

The Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’Iya, has congratulated Hon. Bello Aliyu Goronyo on his appointment as the Director-General of the ADC Campaign Organisation for the 2027 Sokoto State Governorship Election.

Dan’Iya described the appointment as a strategic choice that reflects the confidence of the party leadership and stakeholders in Goronyo’s experience, capacity and commitment to the development of Sokoto State.

In a congratulatory message issued by his Media Aide, Aminu Abdullahi, Dan’Iya described Goronyo as a seasoned civil servant, experienced politician and accomplished public administrator whose years of service have equipped him with the institutional knowledge and grassroots understanding required to lead a successful campaign.

Goronyo previously served as Chairman of the Sokoto State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and his leadership of the party was widely reported following his re-election as State Chairman in 2024.

Dan’Iya also acknowledged Goronyo’s experience as a former Commissioner under the administration of former Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

He said Goronyo’s understanding of governance, public administration and political mobilisation will be valuable to the ADC campaign.

The appointment, he added, brings together experience, organisational capacity and a clear understanding of the political realities of Sokoto State at a critical period when the people are demanding responsible, responsive and purposeful leadership.

The ADC candidate expressed confidence that Goronyo will deploy his experience to unite the party’s structures, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and effectively communicate the ADC’s vision to the people of Sokoto.

He urged the newly appointed Director-General to work closely with party leaders, stakeholders, candidates, youth, women and supporters across the 23 Local Government Areas to build an inclusive campaign capable of reaching every community.

Hon. Dan’Iya said the ADC campaign would focus on issues that directly affect the people, including security, education, healthcare, agriculture, employment, civil service reform, infrastructure and economic empowerment.

He called on all members and supporters of the party to give Hon. Bello Aliyu Goronyo their full cooperation and support, stressing that the success of the 2027 campaign would require unity, discipline, commitment and collective responsibility.

The ADC gubernatorial candidate once again congratulated Hon. Bello Aliyu Goronyo and wished him wisdom, strength and success in his new responsibility.

He expressed optimism that, working together with the party leadership and the people of Sokoto, the campaign organisation would deliver a credible, issue-based and people-oriented campaign that would position the ADC as a strong vehicle for political and developmental change in the state.
