Kwara APC Senatorial Aspirant Urges Gov AbdulRazaq To Reconcile Party Stakeholders

Date:

A former aspirant for the Kwara South Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Sola Ajimati, has called on Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to urgently initiate reconciliation efforts within the party amid growing concerns over internal tensions and disputes arising from recent primary elections.

In an open letter addressed to the governor, Ajimati urged the APC leadership in the state to embrace greater unity, inclusion, and stakeholder engagement to preserve the party’s cohesion and electoral strength ahead of future elections.

The APC chieftain expressed concerns over what he described as the exclusion of some stakeholders from critical decision-making processes within the party, warning that unresolved grievances could undermine the party’s stability.

Ajimati also raised issues regarding the APC Kwara South Senatorial Primary Election held on May 18, 2026, in which he participated as an aspirant.

He alleged irregularities and discrepancies in the collation of results across the seven local government areas of the senatorial district and called for a transparent review of the process.

Drawing lessons from political developments in other states, he cited the inclusive leadership style of Biodun Oyebanji as a model for sustaining party unity, while warning against the consequences of internal divisions.

He appealed to Governor AbdulRazaq to convene a stakeholders’ meeting involving governorship and senatorial aspirants, party leaders, youth groups, and other critical actors within the party to address lingering concerns.

Ajimati further recommended the establishment of an independent reconciliation and consultation committee to engage aggrieved members, rebuild trust, and strengthen internal democracy within the APC in Kwara State.

He also noted that emerging security concerns in parts of the state made it imperative for party leaders to foster unity and collective action in the interest of peace and development.

According to him, timely intervention and inclusive leadership would help position the APC for continued electoral success while consolidating the achievements of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
