2027: Ondo ‌‌⁠APC constitutes presidential campaign council, nominates Aiyedatiwa chairman

The Ondo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has nominated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the chairman of its newly-constituted 228-member Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday in Akure and signed by the state chairman of APC, Mr Kolawole Babatunde.

The statement said the council was constituted for mobilisation and support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and other APC candidates in the state.

According to the statement, the council also comprises serving and former political office holders, federal and state government officials, lawmakers, party leaders, traditional and community stakeholders, women and youth leaders and grassroots mobilisers.

The statement listed Deputy Governor; Dr Olaide Adelami, state Assembly Speaker; Mr Olamide Oladiji, the three ministers from the state; Finance, Prof. Taiwo Oyedele, Interior, Mr Bunmi Tunji-Ojo and Youth, Mr Ayodele Olawamide, in the council

“Also on the council are former Gov. Olusegun Mimiko, former Deputy Gov. Lasisi Oluboyo, all the serving Senators, members of the House of Representatives, commissioners and state Assembly members.

“Dr Victor Olabimtan is the Director-General, Mr Olumuyiwa Adu is Deputy Director-General, while Mr Ola Oguntimehin is the Secretary.

“Constitution of the council is aimed at bringing together experienced leaders and grassroots mobilisers to strengthen APC’s structures across the state ahead of the 2027 elections.

“The development is expected to further unite APC stakeholders and supporters across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State towards a successful electioneering campaign,” the statement said.
